The Great Linford Youth Cricket Club was formed in early 2007. A meeting was held, in the Pavillion on Great Linford High Street, for all those in the Great Linford parish who were interested in forming a youth cricket team. The Committee was elected in February 2007 and indoor training sessions were organised at Radcliffe School, with members of the Stony Stratford Cricket Club providing the coaching.

The Club received funding from the Parish Council and elsewhere and were able to purchase some basic equipment, bats, ball, helmets etc. Coaching moved outdoors, now run by Shaun Greig and by Spring the team were all set to play.

The intention had been to arrange friendly games against local teams but Buckingham pulled out of the Hair Moda Under 16 Youth League and Great Linford agreed to fulfill their fixtures, albeit as friendly matches. It was going to be a tough test as the teams in that league were all at under-16 level, older and much more experienced than the Great Linford players.
Unfortunately, the atrocious summer meant that Great Linford were only able to play 3 games, 2 of those against eventual Champions Wolverton and one against MK Park, naturally they lost all 3 games but there was clear improvement in the performances and all the lads enjoyed the games.
